The HY5508 is a compact 550W direct-drive oil-free low noise air compressor from Hyundai.
Designed for hobby, DIY and light applications it’s ideal for air brushing, blowing away dirt and dust, nailing, inflating tyres & inflatables or operating air tools.
Weighing only 15kg the HY5508 whisper compressor is lighter than your conventional piston type air compressor and is completely oil-free, so there is no risk of oil contamination in the air supply.
The HY5508 features 4 robust rubber mounted feet and a carry handle for easy transport.
Powered by a 550W motor directly connected to the oil-less air compressor pump and rubber mounted for low vibration, makes it ideal for the home, light workshop or garage use and is powered by standard mains 230V supply.
This maintenance-free compressor uses an oil-free diaphragm pump to produce a clean air supply and considerably reduce noise compared to conventional piston compressors.
With an 8-litre tank capacity, this compressor provides an air displacement of 4CFM/ 120 litres per minute and a discharge pressure of 7 bar/ 100 psi.
Fitted with Euro quick release connectors this compressor is fitted with a standard 10A NZ plug.

This wee compressor has exceded my expectations after replacing a similar size unit that went with bang and a puff of smoke. It is so quiet compared to other makes of similar size.
This is a very quiet small compact air compressor just right for what we wanted it for
These are a great little unit as described. I only need a small amount of puff for my workbench or topping up tyres so this has been great. It will spend most of it's life as a dedicated air-assist for my Neje laser (imperative that oil-free is used with a laser cutter!!!). I'll make up a dessicant filter and then I'll have pristine air for my machine. This compressor is well made and runs very quiety as everyone states. Recommended to anyone who needs a small, quiet and good quality compressor. This compressor is streets ahead of anything comparable from a hardware store. Cheers
So far a good compressor for the use I put it to (home garage, car & bike tyres, cleaning filters etc). Super quiet! Small enough to keep in a cupboard & light enough to carry.
So quiet and enough for my needs.
Purchased 13.11.23. Brilliant piece of kit. I have used it to run a 'Nail Gun', 'Finishing Gun', 'Air saw', decant silicon oil from 20litre bulk drum, for my business. Apply 'Lanolin' to rust proof mt 4X4 as well as spray 'Raptor' coating on the 'Truck. It replaces an 'oil' type compressor. Super quite to operate.
I thought this was a well made compressor and the operating noise level is very comfortable. I buy and install these for customers in various applications and find them to be great value so far.
Great little compressor that is unbelievably quiet. I have it attached to my Laser Cutter to provide air assist. The fact that the Laser Cutter is inside I needed a unit that was quiet. Took a punt and am really happy with my choice.
Small size and zero maintenance ideal for my bloke's shed. It would be good if it came with compatible tools for it (Euro connector), as I had to source these separately.
Works well and easy to shift around, and yes, very Quiet!!
