It suggest that it is a flat pack. Is that the case? If it is to what degree is part assembled please?

Yes it is, you need to screw the 4 main parts together - back, seat and each end piece.

Is the wood treated and weatherproof - suitable for placing on grass outside?
A:
It comes with a natural oil finish which needs maintaining the same as all wooden outdoor furniture, there are plenty of products from Wattyl or Cabot etc available to restain it every season. If it's to be especially exposed and you don't want it to have a weathered look you could do this as soon as you get it.

We are very happy with our new garden bench. It is placed in front of a brick wall in the front garden of our property. It is very sturdy and no problem at all for my 'not so handy' husband to put together! The only downside is not being able to find a squab to fit. Perhaps you could provide those too??
