Q:
Could the ceiling hoist hold a kayak?
A:
Yes as long as it is anchored well to a surface that can handle the weight.

Q:
Would this work on a angled 40degree ceiling?
A:
This has not been tested, the pulley wheels need to be vertical for it to operate.

Q:
Can the two anchor points be placed 2.4 metres apart. if I got two I could put them at say 1.4 apart so I could lift say a table tennis table With an anchor point at each corner up and out of the way
A:
Yes there is no set width apart, as long as you are withing the weight ratings it should be fine.

Q:
Do you think this hoist would hold shopping bags and be able to hoist up stairs?
A:
Yes definitely as long as they don't exceed the weight limit, also you need to be sure it's installed in a surface that can handle this weight.

Q:
Would this work on a wall at all or ceiling only?

Just the ceiling unless you cam up with a clever mounting sytem - the pulley wheels need to be vertical for it to operate.

This Multipurpose ceiling hoist helped me deal with disability challenges

I'm a Paraplegic, Professional Speaker and wanted to set things up to be able to record my speeches and speak online. One challenge as a Paraplegic was mounting the projector screen. A friend was happy to help me, and we planned it and then I started thinking how would I deal with it if I had issues with the screen so I looked online and found a Multipurpose Ceiling Storage Hoist on Trade Tested website and decided it would be a good option. It arrived 3 days after ordered and my friend helped me mount the Kayak hoist on the sealing in my office and it has all worked out well. Now as a Paraplegic I have the option to lower the screen and adjust the position if necessary. I have had the screen for a long time and if it fails, I will now be able to replace it myself. I feel this is a great product for lots of options and would highly recommend. Feel I might buy another one sometime to make storing things in my garage easier. Have found Trade Tested good to deal with and this is the second product that has made things easier for me as a paraplegic.

Included screws different to instructions

The kit seems good. But annoyingly there were only two wood screws for the rope tie off hooks. Despite the instructions showing 4 x wood screws and implicitly telling you to screw the pulley bases into wood, they have supplied 4 x expansion bolts (better for concrete /masonry fixing). I can either pre drill holes for the exp. bolts (guessing diameter) or drive to a hardware store for some lag screws. Annoying. But seems well built otherwise.

Works great

Good security too - harder for someone to steal your ebike if it's hung up high lol!

So good, I bought two more!

I was so impressed with the quality and ease of getting these set up (for two e-bikes), that I bought two more for getting tools etc, out of the way. Delivery was quick and painless too.
