Product overview

The Gardena Water Timer is attached to the tap and automatically switches off irrigation of your garden, e.g. sprinklers or a drip irrigation system like the Micro-Drip-System.

Watering times from 5 to 120 minutes can be programmed. The Water Timer starts irrigation immediately and stops the water flow automatically at the time programmed.

For random water retrieval, it can also be set to permanent water flow.

A battery is not required for operation.

Suitable for use with 26.5mm (G 3/4) and 33.3mm (G1) taps.

Hi Does this need daily programming. Or it works daily once programmed? Thanks
A:
This is to adjust the length of time you water, it's not a set & forget. So when you turn the water on when using a sprinkler, you set how long you want it to run for. You will then need to re-set the next time. You will need to go to one of the more sophisticated models to set it to run at the same time every day.

Will it work on a small rainwater butt 2x200L system, where there is minimal flow/pressure?

Yes the timer will still open and shut - have a look at our pump!

Explodes under water pressure

I have a standard outdoor water tap and the pressure makes this unit explode after about 2-3 minutes. Have put it back together and tried on different taps, but it happens every time. Buy a decent brand instead of this junk.

Broken

It worked the first time. It did not turn off the second time I used it and ran all night. I reset it the following day and 5 minutes later the top sprang off. A shame as I have one of the previous Gardena models and it has been going for more than 10 years.

Gardena water timer has helped me enormously with consistent watering of the plants. We are able to leave to go out for the day and forget about the water as it automatically turns off. Using it with the weeper hose I bought, no wasted water.
