Product overview

Ditch single-use plastic planter bags & gain the ability to check on your mini potato or carrot harvests through side windows- no more digging through deep soil.

These felt-like, sustainable fabric grow bags are reusable & allow for great aeration so your plants will not suffer from heat build-up or overwatering. Made with porous fabric that air-prunes plant roots, resulting in a robust and healthy root system.

Traditional pots block 80% of air ventilation leading to weaker and circled root systems. With the combination of air root pruning creating a better root structure and the aeration of the root zone, your plants can reach their full potential.

These reusable bags are made from a double layer felt fabric that is non-woven and BPA free. This felt provides a safe growing medium that is PH neutral, and non-reactive.

Getting started

Add 10cm of garden mix to the grow bag and place 5 sprouted seed potatoes on top (sprouts should point up). Cover with around 5cm of soil and water generously. As the sprouts appear through the top soil, keep covering with garden mix until you reach you top. Make sure to keep your grow bag in a sheltered sunny spot and water regularly to ensure the grow bag does not dry out (try not to get the foliage wet). When it's time to harvest your potato crop, round up the kids, lift up the grow bag flap and put them to work!

Potato Bag

We gave these as a Christmas present and the receivers were stoked! They were easy to order and came down quickly so they were here in plenty of time. We were very happy with them!!

Avoid the Potato Takeover Forever

Using a self-contained potato bag is an excellent way to grow potatoes, particularly in non-garden spaces or greenhouses, and also avoid potato and soil contamination in a vegetable garden (once you grow potatoes in a garden they just keep coming back, whether you want them or not). Growth time is up to three months, and after harvest the soil can be re-used to grow potatoes in the bag again. These bags don't have a flap (as there is no need) and I recommend placing them on raised base (such as a pellet) so they don't sit in moisture.

Spuds

I read the instructions from the bag makers, the seed potato suppliers, the fertiliser makers and applied them religiously and for the first time in my life, I grew potatoes which I harvested on Christmas morning, boiled them in minted water and served them tossed with warm melted minted butter. Everyone loved them. So they worked as advertised. I think the potatoes only cost me $13.56 per kilo.

Potato grow bags

Fabulous bags. We planted tomatoes in several bags and they are thriving. Great if you have limited space in the vegie garden and need a little extra growing room.

Perfect for the deck

A great way to grow your own spuds when it is so hard to buy consistent quality spuds at the supermarket.
