Hyundai Lawnmower 510mm 196cc Self-Propelled

This mower is quite nicely made and has a good engine which starts easily. However, it seems to be set up for the traditional NZ obsession with cutting the grass incredibly short, or preferably even shorter! (If you really want to keep your grass this short why not buy a reel mower?) I have made a new part for mine to lift the cutting deck to the highest it can go without causing other problems (the bar connecting the front wheels hits the cutting deck if you try to go any higher), but it's still quite low, so unless the grass is bone-dry it's still prone to clogging up really quickly whichever grass discharge option you attempt. Hence, I can recommend it, but not for tackling long grass/bringing a neglected lawn back into shape.

I used it already few times. Very versatile, resilient, perfect for mid-size property (around 650 m2)! Happy with the purchase; on top, it has 3 years store warranty, which is a bonus!

We use the mower to mow Kikuyu grass on the side of a hill that's too steep for a regular ride on. The mower is ok for power when the grass is dry but struggles when wet or dewey. The side discharge is a great idea, however it gets clogged way too easily irrespective of whether the grass is dry or not. The plastic cover that allows the side discharge to be used is rubbish, it's just held in place by the spring on the cover that covers the side discharge and then loosely clips in place, but comes off if the grass even looks at it funny, it also catches way too much grass and helps the side discharge to clog up. Overall it's ok and it mostly does the job, but there's a few frustrating things with it.

I have used the lawnmower for a month now and it is truly excellent. It cuts through any challenge and simply does not quit. Powerful and convenient to use. It tackles long grass with ease, effectively collects the cuttings and always starts on the first pull. I highly recommend this lawnmower.

Excellent product mows great easy start

We are thoroughly happy with the Hyundai self propelled lawn mower. It is strong and well built and is an absolute breeze to use. The product is used for about 2 Hours a week and cuts very well. The drive system takes a little while to get used to if you have not used one before but its well worth it!

Fantastic mower to tame a half acre of knee length grass, which didn't justify the cost of a ride-on, but needed enough grunt to do the job and not break me in the process. We don't call it 'Dinornis' for nothing. The self propelled feature was a must and it's performing great, by the third mow it's just wander along behind it and enjoy the stroll. Ideal for an already 'tamed' lawn too, very easy to use and does a great cut. Started on the first pull and is built like a tank, runs smooth and steady. Only thing to watch is the nut holding the loop for the pull string works loose, had to install a split washer. Restarting even a warm engine always requires priming the engine, not sure why. Overall, a great product that arrived on time in great condition. Go buy it, you know you want to.

Good price and impressed with the torque. Not impressed by the fact it has no way of controlling the revs or speed (this was my oversight). The safety features are VERY safe but VERY annoying. Price in a pull cord in the future and I hope trade tested will have parts available! Has the power and robustness required for a lifestyle block owner but not quite the features. The price has helped get over the short comings.

Great mower, only negative is that it could cut lower.
